“The most exciting and original ska band in years”

about
Madame Claude is a five-piece ska band from North Manchester, blending ska, rocksteady, reggae and flashes of disco into a high-energy, brass-free wall of sound that’s built for the dancefloor. Cutting their teeth on the Manchester circuit, they’ve graduated from rowdy support slots to sold‑out headline shows, winning a reputation for sweat-drenched, joyously chaotic live sets.oldham-chronicle+4
Fronted by vocalist Frank Williams, with a line-up completed by Mikey, Sam Butterfield, Gabriel Preston and Charlie Lawless, the band channel classic 2‑Tone spirit while twisting it into something distinctly their own. Their debut “Holt Town Jig” EP – featuring crowd favourites “Jelly Legs” and “Part of Your Show” – showcases their knack for big hooks, off‑beat grooves and wry, observational lyrics.
Along the way, they’ve shared stages with genre heavyweights including The Selecter, The Beat and Bad Manners, earning praise from Pauline Black OBE, who hailed them as one of the best ska bands she’s heard in years. With a growing catalogue of original material and an ever-expanding fanbase, Madame Claude are rapidly becoming one of the most talked‑about new bands on the UK ska scene.
